Ried Fasching

Blaufränkisch DAC Eisenberg reserve - SINGLE VINYARD

Ried Fasching was our first single-vineyard wine from Eisenberg from vines over 40 years old. This wine embodies liquid terroir from the Eisenberg. This is how Eisenberg is fun.

Origin: The Ried “Fasching” is a southern slope. This lower location with later morning sun has a slightly cooler microclimate. The rock subsoil is sandy loam (silt), the reed is sandy-gravelly in the northeast and sandy-clayey in the southwest and belongs to the Pannonian sediments (approx. 10 million years old). The local green slate can be found at a depth of approx. 1.5 m.

Vinification: Hand picking, 26 days of maceration, spontaneous fermentation in wooden vats, malolactic fermentation, 36 months storage in new 500 l wooden barrels

Closure: natural cork
